Established in December 2021, Hoop Heads Academy was founded to provide players with the opportunity to play competitive travel basketball in a positive, player-centered environment.
The mission of Hoop Heads Academy is to provide an exceptional personal development experience through the game of basketball for the youth of Maui by teaching the values of excellence, pride, joy, relentlessness, and toughness.
We will provide comprehensive programs that help all of our athletes become the best players and people they can be. We are here to encourage student-athletes to make good decisions while utilizing basketball to teach life skills.
We believe that basketball can provide opportunity for some to play basketball in college, but believe education and having the tools to succeed in life are key to each players success in bettering their life.
Long Race, Strong Pace
Our motto at Hoop Heads Academy is, “Long race, strong pace.” In basketball and life, everything is a marathon, not a sprint. Hoop Heads focuses on long-term goals that are more meaningful and fruitful than short-term thinking. The marathon of life and basketball requires a bigger picture type of thinking with a consistent, strong work ethic to back it up. The finish line may not be visible, it simply takes time and purposeful work.
