COACHES
Hoop Heads Academy coaches have experience playing and coaching at the varsity or collegiate level. Our coaches develop mentoring relationships and use the positive influence of those relationships to instill healthy, long term habits that forever make a difference in our young athletes lives.
Coach Maiki Tihada is our Head Coach for Hoop Heads Academy. She is the Owner of Heads UP Basketball. She played collegiately and has trained 12 players that have played in college and multiple First Team MIL All Stars. Coach Maiki stresses having a fun, positive environment where players and coaches work hard developing skills needed on and off the court.
Coach Marty Lacio is our assistant coach. Coach Marty has coached club teams and middle school teams on Maui for the past 5 years. He’s an active member in the basketball community and brings tremendous value to the club.
