Hoops Elite Youth Academy
The Hoops Elite Youth Academy is a developmental program geared toward players from 5th-8th grade. The academy focuses on 3 key areas: athleticism/coordination/strength, basketball skill/IQ (offense and defense), and mentality.
Through working with players for the past 7 years with Heads UP Basketball, Head Coach Maiki Tihada has concluded that to reach your potential, maximize performance, and make big improvements, all three areas must be addressed. Alongside Coach Maiki, will be Coach Marty Lacio. Coach Marty has done a phenomenal job coaching and developing his upcountry teams for the middle school league. His influence beyond the court through nutrition, variable resistance strength training, and understanding of the body has brought incredible value to our high school program.
Since our first travel team in 2022, the club has helped develop 1, MIL Player of The Year (Kobe Garcia), 4, First Team MIL Basketball All Star Selections (Jordan Babcock, Noah Flores Alexander, Kanaau Castro, Kobe Garcia), and 3 players that received college basketball opportunities (Kobe Garcia, Noah Flores Alexander, Jordan Babcock).
